DR. RAMANA SIDHAYE

Dr. Sidhaye is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She has joint appointments in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences and Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and in Biomedical Engineering. This cross-disciplinary approach underscores her dedication to advancing our understanding of lung health and disease through diverse perspectives.  The primary focus of her work is on epithelial determinants of chronic lung injury and developing mechanistic strategies to address this critical issue. Her work is characterized by the innovative utilization of primary patient-derived lung cells, enabling her to identify patient-specific mechanistic approaches to reverse chronic epithelial injury.

 Dr. Sidhaye serves as the Director of the Pulmonary Biorepository, an instrumental role in advancing research in the field of pulmonology. Additionally, she takes on the role of Associate Program Director for the Physician-Scientist Pathways within the Johns Hopkins residency program, nurturing the next generation of physician-scientists. In addition, she is serving as the Director of the Careers in Science and Medicine Summer Internship Program (CSM SIP).
